The core elements of this series originate from the fascination I have for Franz Kline’s work. The forms used are reminiscent of furniture, for example, and thus pay homage to Kline’s earlier armchair drawings. In general, I questioned the use of furniture in my works during this phase and added atmospheric elements ranging from cosiness to departure.
For artworks in this phase, I gradually began to use abstraction with increased intensity, reducing the use of colours and shapes more and more, directing the focus to the essentials.
